We’ve added an extra layer of security to keep our and our clients data as safe as we can. We can only access our apps through a 2Factor Authentication portal, from a location in Australia. So we need a phone code and a password to get to the apps that need a phone code and a password.
Using strong passphrases will help keep the baddies out. An 8 character password would take about 5 hours to hack using brute force, 11 character would take about 10 years.
When sending emails, consider the content and the risk of interception. It is best practice not to send TFN details by email. And never accept an email from a supplier to change the bank account you pay into – call someone you know to confirm first.
