How do we live with it?
Email has changed the way we work, but have we taken the convenience too far? Do we send things willy nilly?
Email hacking is incredibly common and it may be months before we realise we’ve been compromised. To lower risks, what should we keep out of emails?
Never send identity documents – drivers licence, passport, medicare details (all the things hackers have stolen from Medicare and Optus).
Keep your Tax File Number under wraps, never request an employee complete a TFN declaration and email it as part of their onboarding procedures.
When sending emails, assume its going to be read by someone else. Cos it probably will be.
