Payday Superman Day

It’s Superman Day, and while we aren’t leaping over skyscrapers (OH&S), we are busy making sure your business is faster than a speeding bullet for Payday Super.

We will continue to do the doing for our clients, this is just a quick heads-up on the two main costume changes.

Employees – The old quarterly payment cycle is officially retiring. From 1 July 2026, you must pay your employees’ super guarantee at the same time you pay their salary and wages – whether that is weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. It has to fly out of your bank account and land in their super fund within 7 business days of payday.

Eligible Contractors – The new rules also apply to independent contractors who are classified as ‘deemed employees’ for super purposes (generally sole traders paid wholly or principally for their personal labour). Under Payday Super, every single time you pay a contractor’s invoice that includes eligible labour, it triggers its own 7 business day deadline for the super to hit their fund. Accounts payable and payroll will need to work in perfect harmony so we don’t accidentally summon the kryptonite of late-payment penalties!
