If you’ve got employees, you should be aware that group certificates (or individual non-business payment summaries in the new lingo) need to be distributed to staff by 14th July. STP finalisation is due by 14th July for business with 20 or more staff, business with 19 or fewer staff have until the 31st July.
So you click a couple of buttons right?
Yeah, right after you reconcile the bank account, run payroll reports to confirm everything balances (and nothing has been coded incorrectly), draft payment summaries and look for obvious formatting errors (allowances in the wrong box). But after all that, a few clicks should get them lodged. There is nothing to send to the staff – so be prepared for the ‘where is my group certificate’ questions.
