What’s New Wednesday – ReceiptBank Dext Mileage

It’s now really easy for you or your staff to submit a cents per km claim for business trips.*
You can create a mileage claim using the phone app or in the browser when you are back at your desk.

– Select your car from the dropdown list (we’ll set it all up in the background for you).
– Select the date of the trip
– Enter start and end points and decide if you came back again or if it was a one-way trip to the circus!
– Review the distance travelled for plausibility
– Add notes – why did you make the trip (client name meeting / training course etc)
– Create claim

Don’t forget to make a claim for parking and/or tolls if there were any (we live in Sydney – of course there are tolls!!)

We’ll then add the trip to a payrun and make sure you get paid.
ReceiptBank/Dext automatically uses the ATO default rate ($0.88 for FY 24/25) – your award or employment contract may specify a higher rate that should be taxed.

ReceiptBank/Dext has you covered – just like any other work related expenses.

*No double dipping!
Generally you can’t claim cents per km if you already receive a travel or car allowance in your salary package.
If you drive a company car, the company is already paying!
