2025 TPAR due soon

If you pay subcontractors, you may need to lodge a Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR) by 28th August.
Its a bit like lodging group certificates – no extra payment is required, you just need to report on total payments made during the last financial year.

Back to work/school, holidays are over!

Make sure you are recording staff leave to keep their balances up to date.
Employers need to tell employees their leave balances if they ask for it, or it can be displayed on payslips so your team can selfserve.

April – June super needs to be authorised NOW!

April – June super contributions must be received (by fund) by 28th July. This super is at the old rate of 11.5%.

Payments should be authorised right now as it takes longer than you think for the super fund to receipt the money.

Late payments of superannuation are not tax deductible – and fines and interest will be applied.

2025 EOFY payroll – due today

Annual ‘STP Finalisation’ needs to be filed with the ATO by today. (This replaces providing Payment Summaries/Group Certificates to your staff.)
Your team will not receive any documentation from you, they will be able to access details in their MyGov account once the finalisation has been completed – it may take an extra day or two to work through the system.

Group Certificates – picnic!

Its not a picnic if you are doing it properly.
Don’t forget you are making a legal declaration to the tax office on behalf of your staff – it needs to be right. Near enough is not good enough.

Once you’ve confirmed the data is correct – it goes straight to the tax office, your staff don’t receive paperwork from you.
Ask us to step in if you’d rather take your bear out for a picnic!

It's time to prepare your BAS for lodgement

June 2025 BAS

Using our BAS agent extension – the due date is 25th August.
Late lodgement could result in fines, and will void any payment plan you have in place with the ATO, and make it much harder to request another one in future.
Act now!
Please wait until September to make an appointment with your accountant to prepare your tax return.

Happy New Financial Year!

July is a big month for small business owners – Super goes up to 12% for all wage payments made in July (regardless of period worked), minimum wages increase from the first full pay period in the month, and HECS debt thresholds increase.

Group certificates need to be finalised, super needs to be paid.

And we’re going to be stopping for cake a couple of times this month!
